Day 24. Project Laureate - Family Sketchbook

Chris Riddell's 5 Point Plan
The Inspiration for our Blog

Wild Thing!

Our kids have always been into natural history. They've had a thing for anything wild and natural since they could point, from creepy crawlies to huge reptiles with massive teeth.

One of the wonderful things about this sketching project is that the two interests easily combine. Having indulged in a spot of weekend family documentary watching, everyone was fired up (spot the pun on Hubster's drawing) about the natural world. After learning and watching, we could draw what we saw.

Things that move are tricky. Although we've been lucky enough to see all sorts of creatures in the wild, we sat with books to draw from. It's safer and the images don't move!

Day 24 #ProjectSketchbook

Hubster's volcano (from a book - he wasn't standing next to this explosive scene).

William soaring on to the scene with his bird for the first of his sketches.

Frilled lizard from William for his second sketch.

Oliver's raptors. Peregrine I believe.

My bear. Grizzly? Nah, I've just not had my wine yet.
